1. Who we are

PacedBreath (the “app”) and the website at pacedbreath.app (the “site”) are provided by Alex Simukovic (“we”, “us”). For this policy, we are the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at alexsimukovic@gmail.com.

2. The short version

The app has no sign-in, no account, and no profile.
We operate no server that receives your app data. Everything the app stores lives on your iPhone.
The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics SDK, and no trackers.
Apple Health is write-only and entirely optional.
Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details.
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

3. Data the app stores on your device

To work as a breathing pacer, the app stores the following locally on your iPhone using standard iOS storage (such as UserDefaults). This data is not transmitted to us:

Safety screening answers and safety preferences.
Session history: which protocol you ran, its duration, the outcome, and optional reflection taps.
Favorites, custom breath patterns, and on-device recommendation feedback.
Preferences for visual appearance, voice, audio, haptics, and reminders.
Local app state needed to run sessions, widgets, and Shortcuts.
A small rolling set of Apple's on-device performance and diagnostic reports, available only through the export you initiate.

Local reminders are scheduled through iOS notifications on your device. If your device backups are enabled (iCloud or computer backups), this local data may be included in your backup under Apple's terms — that is controlled by your device settings, not by us.

4. Data we collect on servers

None. We do not operate an analytics backend, crash-reporting service, advertising network, or remote database for app data. If a future release ever changes this, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before that release ships.

Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized statistics (such as download counts, crash summaries, and purchase totals) through App Store Connect. These statistics do not identify you, and what Apple collects from your device is governed by your iOS analytics settings and Apple's privacy policy.

5. Apple Health

If — and only if — you grant permission, the app writes completed breathing sessions of 30 seconds or longer to Apple Health as mindful-minute samples. The app does not read any Apple Health data.

You can withdraw this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, and you can delete recorded samples in the Health app. Health data is stored and protected by Apple on your device; it is never sent to us, and we never use Health data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than the write-out you requested.

6. Purchases

PacedBreath 1.0 remains the live app while version 1.1 is prepared. Its one-time unlock, StoreKit product pb_lifetime, costs $39.99 in the U.S. storefront and may still appear under its earlier name; the live app may also offer legacy subscription products pb_1 and pb_2. Apple's confirmation sheet governs the exact offer, local price, renewal terms, and eligibility available today. Version 1.1 presents PacedBreath Complete as the only paid offer to new customers.

Payment is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive your name, billing address, or payment card details.

The app uses Apple's StoreKit framework on your device to check whether the Complete purchase or an active legacy subscription entitlement exists and unlock paid features accordingly. An active entitlement from an earlier release remains honored. StoreKit provides the app with signed transaction and entitlement information; we do not operate a purchase server or link that information to an identity. Apple may separately show us aggregated sales reporting in App Store Connect.

7. The website

This site is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, and embeds no social media widgets. Fonts, screenshots, icons, and other PacedBreath artwork load from this site's own origin.

Pages with a download link request Apple's official “Download on the App Store” badge image from tools.applemediaservices.com. That request lets Apple receive standard connection data such as your IP address, browser user agent, and the referring page under Apple's privacy policy. It is an image request, not an analytics or advertising script, and we do not receive its request data.

Like virtually all websites, the hosting provider that serves the site processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser user agent, and pages requested) to deliver pages and protect against abuse under its own infrastructure terms. We do not add analytics to those requests or use hosting logs to identify or profile visitors.

8. Support email

If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your email address, your message, and any screenshots or device details you include. We use it solely to answer you and improve the app. Please do not send sensitive health information by email.

Our support inbox (alexsimukovic@gmail.com) is hosted by Google (Gmail), which acts as our email processor. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, and we delete it on request — see Data Deletion.

9. Legal bases (UK / EU users)

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on:

Performance of a contract — operating the app and the purchases you request.
Legitimate interests — answering support email and serving the website securely.
Consent — the optional Apple Health write permission, which you may withdraw at any time.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold is support correspondence. Email alexsimukovic@gmail.com and we will honor verified requests within applicable statutory deadlines. Data stored on your iPhone is under your direct control — see Data Deletion.

11. Children

PacedBreath is general-wellness software and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the app collects no personal data on our servers, no child-specific data is held by us.

12. Security and retention

App data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, and iOS sandboxing). We hold no copies of it and therefore cannot lose or leak it. Support email is retained as described in section 8. Server hosting-provider request data is handled as described in section 7.

13. Deleting your data

Settings → Data & Privacy lets you export, selectively clear, or delete local PacedBreath data. Deleting the app also removes the local app data from that device. Apple Health samples written with your permission remain in Apple Health until you delete them there. Step-by-step instructions are on the Data Deletion page.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. The app will not silently expand its data collection: any future collection beyond what is described here would be reflected in this policy and in the App Store privacy disclosures before release.
